What Is the Employer`s Requirement in Employment Documentation for the I-9

Spanish-speaking employers and employees in all 50 states and other U.S. state territories can print it for reference, but must complete the form in English to meet the job eligibility verification requirements. These requirements apply to all staff and student staff, including contract insureds, classified non-unionized personnel, temporary and specialized staff, Home Health physicians and Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) contract employees. Some people who have a temporary employment relationship with the UW and fellows fill out Form I-9 because these individuals could move to a paid UW position and therefore would need an I-9 on file. List A documents indicate both identity and work permit. Employees who provide an acceptable List A document should not be asked to provide another document. Some documents in List A are actually a combination of 2 or more documents. In this case, the documents submitted together are considered to be a list A document.
